Pet Friendly Hotels – For some, a family trip just doesn’t feel right without the entire family, four-legged members included. Finding a place that will even let your dog in the front door can be a challenge, but these eight hotels go substantially further — lavishing special attention and privileges on pets, sometimes spoiling them even more than their human companions.
1. De L’Europe Amsterdam
Amsterdam — Traveling to Amsterdam on business doesn’t have to mean leaving your pet back home. At De L’Europe, the staff will keep your pup company, take it on walks and arrange special treats on request. And with all the parks and trees nearby, your canine co-traveler will have plenty of new territory to sniff out.
2. ME CaboMexico
ME Cabo is all about pampering its guests, and guests with tails are no exception. Arrive with a pet and you’ll find several complimentary amenities in the room, including deodorizer, a dog toy and eau de toilette, plus a special dog-size day bed to nap on at the beach.
3. Lime Wood Hotel
England — Lime Wood’s rural setting and vast lawns are ideal for spending time outdoors with your dog. For something more social, take part in the Forest Power Walk, where you can join other dog-loving guests (and their pets) for a brisk, guided hike in the woods of the New Forest.
4. Hôtel Keppler
Paris — Hôtel Keppler looks almost too well-groomed to allow pets, but in fact they’re as welcoming as can be. Be sure to let the hotel know your dog’s name ahead of time and they’ll be treated with a personalized snack upon arrival. And beyond the hotel’s walls, your dog will have plenty of company on the streets of Paris.
5. Soho Grand Hotel
New York — New York’s typically tiny hotel rooms and densely urban landscape can make traveling with your pet a hassle. That’s why the SoHo Grand designed its own dog park directly next to the hotel. It’s full of fun and colorful art, and benches line the play area so you can relax while your dog mingles with locals and gets a little exercise.
Tokyo — After a red-eye to Tokyo, you may not be the only one in your party who’s looking less than fresh. Fortunately, Claska has an in-house hair salon, called Dogman, specializing in canine teasing and blowouts, with a style to suit every lap dog. They also stock toys, in case someone forgot to pack all their travel accessories.
7. The ArchLondon
At the Arch, room service is for guests of both species, with a special leather-bound menu of chef-made delicacies for your dog. Should things get a bit messy during dinner, there’s a bottle of lemon and eucalyptus–infused fur and body wash sitting ready on the counter in your bathroom.
8. Taj Boston
Boston — The plush dog beds and various culinary offerings would be reason enough to treat your pet to a stay at the Taj Boston. What really keeps tails wagging, however, is a friendly doorman whose pockets are bursting with treats. Needless to say, getting along well with canine guests is a primary qualification for the job.
